Twenty-five years ago I was a middle-aged family man, who formulated cleaning products for a living and was just beginning to take an interest in spirituality. But after an unforgettable vision one morning in April 1998, I was lifted from my ordinary life, exposed to a larger reality than our collective tunnel vision normally allows, and tutored in a new way of relating word, number and form. Then, after a certain world event had occurred, I was given an extraordinary mission, which involved unlocking a hidden level of information in the Christian Bible, encoded as simple numerical relationships and elegant pixellated images. Within these ancient words is the most beautiful garden you could ever hope to visit, of which these images are snapshots.
This is the internal vision I received: three discs of brilliant light, arranged to indicate a perfect triangle.
They were so bright and so alive that I could barely look at them. But, plucking up a little gumption, I focussed on the lower light on my right and immediately but all-too-briefly melded with it, an experience beyond words. Years later, watching the film The Matrix, I saw Neo being pulled up to The Nebuchadnezzar towards three similar lights and realised that I too had been raised up, rescued, reborn.
Note the differentiation between the upper disc, which was pearly-white in colour, and the two lower ones, which were a creamy yellow hue. The lights were suggesting something, the beginning of a simple numerical sequence called triangular numbers, created from the natural numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, . . . .) by progressively adding them up. Here are the first ten members and the pixellated triangles they form.
I had been put on a quest, given a puzzle to solve. Solving this puzzle became the focus of my life and after twenty years and with a lot of freely-given assistance I did solve it. The help came in many forms, including visions, dreams, synchronicities in abundance, ‘downloads’ of information, and encounters with flesh-and-blood people, who indicated I was to regard them as angels and who knew my every thought, something they proved to me over and again.
Some of the first synchronicities pointed out the number 444 to me. I began to research the properties and associations of numbers and discovered to my excitement that in the Bible, four is linked to the world and to cities in particular, because the world’s oldest city, Damascus, is associated with the number 444, no less! Damascus is also famously associated with the apostle Paul (Saul, then) and his conversion experience on the road to that ancient metropolis.
Words can be linked to numbers because in ancient languages letters doubled as numerals (for example, Roman numerals) and the letters forming the Hebrew word Damaseq (Damascus) sums to 444 through the numerical values assigned to the four letters forming that word (which are read from right to left).
Dalet = 4, Mem = 40, Shin = 300, Koph = 100; sum = 444
So the puzzle involved numbers, geometry and language; all three appeared to be linked by invisible connecting filaments.
Feeling I was at the centre of a whirlwind, I began the Christian Alpha Course in 2001 and there I was gifted with a special type of key. The Key was given through what I can only describe as a miracle, involving the course director as she sat in a cafe called, significantly, The Open Door! Apart from her impeccable character and strong faith, which took her to ministry in Bethlehem, I knew she was telling the truth about what happened to her because I had my own related experience on the same day.
The Key was two Bible verses she’d been reading, which then appeared in the shape of a key on her bookmark. Here it is.
The verses are 1 Thessalonians, 5.23-4 (NIV ‘84). This epistle was written by the very man who had been converted to faith in Christ at Damascus: the apostle Paul. [1] Immediately after the Key manifested the woman was twice told by an inner voice that it was for me. She handed me it at an Alpha Course meeting, after I told her about a dream I’d had about moving into a new house. Keys open doors. [2]
I had to learn myself how to use the Key, but once I’d done that, I could ‘open’ the Bible at any point and see what lay beneath. The version I was to unlock was the NIV Bible, but what the Key taught me also helped me find information in the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. [3]
The Bible is no dusty old tome full of cranky, irrelevant writings, but alive, mysterious, vital and nourishing. It proclaims as much throughout.
The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; Psalm 19.7, NIV ‘84
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4.12, NIV ‘84
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3.16, NIV ‘84
I was now learning the absolute truth of those words, as I hope to show the reader in the pages that follow.
Receiving the Key launched me on a journey of revelation and discovery, the result of which was a completely new understanding of Scripture. then eventually a website, two books, lots of articles like this one and occasional talks and radio interviews. I’ve now completed the website and want to use this space to introduce you to the findings of myself and others, intrigue you and hopefully spread the Good News more widely. In the past the word of a pastor or priest held authority for most, but in an age where the church has lost a great deal of authority and one of increasing scientific literacy, people ask for and deserve real evidence that Scripture was divinely inspired.
You won’t need a maths or science degree to understand any of it, but you may have to think a little at times, not because any of it is difficult to understand, but because most of you will have become used to thinking as the world thinks - and that is not at all how God thinks.
Two questions might already have arisen in the reader’s mind.
Is my work amateur gibberish? In this webpage, I show how the code deftly escapes the maw of The Law of Truly Large Numbers, which is the main threat here, since the Bible is a huge data set of numbers from which to select and concoct a code. [4]
Am I indulging in some form of Kabbalism? There are two parts to my answer, the first of which I have already revealed: I was specifically commissioned to undertake this work by spiritual forces that I could not control. These forces shattered my long-held atheism and scientific naturalism to reveal new and exciting vistas. Secondly, the cyphertext I discovered supports, validates and interprets the Bible’s plaintext words over and again, including the many prophesies it contains.
Ultimately, you have to judge the value and provenance of this information for yourself. But you might like to know that the Bible encourages numerical research:
This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666. Revelation 13.18, NIV ‘84
- and assures us that once its secrets are revealed they are ours to keep.
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this Law. Deuteronomy 29.29, NIV ‘84
So prepare for the ride of your life, as I take you through the opened door into God’s secret garden. [5]

Notes
1 Thessalonians is the first-written of Paul’s epistles and likely the first completed book in the New Testament.
The Alpha Course is an introduction to the Christian Faith, run by Holy Trinity Brompton Church in London.
The three encoded versions are the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensis (Hebrew Bible), Erasmus’ Textus Receptus (Greek New Testament) and The NIV Bible, 1984 (British English). All three versions are the most popular in use. These codes have been accumulating since the first scribes put pen to parchment, so earlier and alternative versions also contain fragments of information. But the above three documents contain all of it.
The Law of Truly Large Numbers is an oft-cited principle, stating that with a large enough numerical data set, any numerical pattern can be found. It is an often devastating rebuff to those who make claims involving unusual numerical coincidences.
There are many people to thank for the help they gave me, sometimes without knowing it. I specifically thank Felicity Murrie for passing on the Key, Kathryn LeCorre for her many contributions and unflagging support, Cheryl Noland for passing on an angelic experience that had a message for me and Richard McGough, Gary Val Tenuta, John Elias and several other Bible code researchers for contributions and enlightening discussions. Finally, I pay tribute to the late, great Vernon Jenkins, who laid the foundations for much of this work.
